This week we visited Matua Mudflats for our Discovery Trip. We learnt that a estuary is where fresh water meets the saltwater of the ocean. We explored the area around the mudflats and saw lots of wildlife that calls the estuary its home. After lunch we got to become scientists and explore the mudflats. During this time we were able to dig and find out how different areas were affected by the salt water. Our instructor Van was an expert with the area and we enjoyed the sharing of his knowledge.
